Why Support AHI?

AHI strives to model the values of honesty, integrity, transparency and trustworthiness that it teaches. As a Christ-centered organization we also seek to live in alignment with the values and life of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.

Business Values & Practices:

Strong Accountability: AHI follows standard accounting practices. AHI's financial books are audited annually. A board of directors provides financial oversight on all major purchases. All AHI funds and donations are carefully monitored, reconciled and recorded.

Sustainability: AHI's long-term goal is to generate enough income to cover salaries and day-to-day operating expenses and become largely self-sustaining and reproducible. Currently, the guesthouses and catering opportunities provide a small but steady source of income that supplements the donations we receive. We also seek to use environmentally sustainable practices such as recycling, composting and using solar panels for power.

Low Administrative Costs: Many agencies use a sustantial percent of donations for administrative overhead. AHI uses very little for administrative overhead. This is possible because AHI operates out of Uganda where costs are lower, strives to be good stewards of its resources and is a small organization. Your funds directly support the costs of running the school, paying teacher salaries and supporting student tuition costs. Your money makes a direct and visible difference! We encourage you to visit us and see for yourself!

Making a Difference: AHI is not only equipping students with hospitality skills. They are learning life skills, English, leadership skills and pewrhaps most importantly, they are learning to see themselves in a new way. They are becoming individuals who no longer see themselves as victims. They are experiencing hope, dreams and new possiblities.
